Three men and a woman
have been arrested by gardaĆ investigating dissident republican activities in
the Border area.
A 49-year-old man and a
43-year-old woman were arrested in Castlebellingham on Monday while a
30-year-old man was arrested in Navan a short time later.
Another man, aged 38,
was arrested in Navan on Tuesday.
Three houses in
Drogheda, Navan and Castlebellingham were searched in connection with the
investigation as was a commercial premises in Navan. A number of vehicles and a
9mm hand gun were seized.
The three men remain in
custody this morning. The woman has been released without charge.
