Dissident republicans, Dublin arrests
British Deputy First
Minister in Stormont, Sinn Fein’s Martin McGuinness has described dissident
republicans as, “Criminals and traitors who are involved in drug dealing and
prostitution”.
Five men will appear in
court in Dublin this morning charged in connection with alleged dissident
republican activity.
They were all arrested on
Wednesday as part of an ongoing Garda investigation into such activity. All are
in their 20s and they had been detained at various Garda stations in Dublin for
questioning.
Gardaí will bring thme
before the Dublin District Court at the Criminal Courts of Justice at 10.30am.
A woman in her late 20s who
was also arrested on Wednesday and who was detained at Ballymun Garda station
has been released without charge.
A second woman in her late
30s was arrested yesterday 12th September and she is still being held at
Finglas Garda under section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act 1939, a
Garda spokesman said.
