Declan McClinchey Funeral

The funeral of the son of murdered INLA man Dominic McGlinchey has taken place in Bellaghy, County Derry.

Declan McGlinchey, 39, took ill on Sunday night. Declan was a solid Republican and never faltered.

The father-of-seven was able to walk out of the house after complaining of chest pains but later died.

His father, Dominic McGlinchey, was an INLA leader who was shot dead in front of his teenage son in 1994 by nameless, faceless cowards.

Declan's mother, Mary, was shot dead as she bathed her two sons in 1987, again Mary was murdered by criminal scum.

In the 2011 trial of republican Colin Duffy, who faced murder charges after two soldiers were shot dead outside Massarene army barracks in Antrim, a barrister told the court: “Police hold reliable information to indicate that a son of Dominic McGlinchey Senior was the driver of the vehicle which was subsequently recovered by police and was used in the fatal shooting of two soldiers.”
