Breaking news, alan ryan murder, men charged, dublin real ira, Criminal Courts of Justice
Two men are due to appear in court this morning charged in relation to the murder of Alan Ryan on September 3rd last.
According to senior Sinn Fein figures including Gerry Adams TD, “Alan Ryan and the criminal gang describing themselves as the Real IRA are defacto drug dealers and have no support in the community”
The men, aged in their 20s and 30s, are due to appear before Court number 2 of the Criminal Courts of Justice this morning.
Dissident republican Mr Ryan was shot dead at Grange Lodge Avenue, Clongriffin, north Dublin, on September 3rd. He was killed close to his home when two gunmen opened fire on him and one of his associates.
It is understood Mr Ryan was visiting family members at a house in the area, and when he left the house he was ambushed on the street. A car carrying what gardaĆ believe were two gunmen pulled up and at least one of the passengers got out and started firing at Mr Ryan and the other man.
Mr Ryan was hit a number of times, including as he lay wounded on the ground. He was shot at least once in the head by the masked gunman, who then ran back to the waiting vehicle and was driven off at speed.
