The men aged in their late 20s and 30s were arrested today and are being held under Section 50 of the Criminal Justice Act 2007 at Coolock Garda station.
Dissident republican Mr Ryan was shot dead at Grange Lodge Avenue, Clongriffin, north Dublin, on September 3rd. He was killed close to his home when two gunmen opened fire on him and one of his associates.
It is understood Mr Ryan was visiting family members at a house in the area, and when he left the house he was ambushed on the street. A car carrying what gardaĆ believe were two gunmen pulled up and at least one of the passengers got out and started firing at Mr Ryan and the other man.
Mr Ryan was hit a number of times, including as he lay wounded on the ground. He was shot at least once in the head by the masked gunman, who then ran back to the waiting vehicle and was driven off at speed.
